18 lawyers booked for assaulting security supervisor | The Express Tribune

DIJKOT:

The Factory Area police have registered a case against 18 lawyers for allegedly torturing a security supervisor after being prevented from sitting in a park.

The police registered the case after a video of the security guard being tortured went viral on social media.

Police said Sohail Anjum, a security supervisor at a local company and a resident of Mansoorabad, filed a complaint with Factory Area Police.

He stated that he was performing his duties as a security supervisor at Nazimabad City Society. On March 1, his brothers Muhammad Farhan and Owais were on duty when four cars and three motorcycles arrived carrying Muhammad Hassan Malik Advocate, Muhammad Ahmed Malik Advocate residents of Santpura, and 16 others armed with iron rods, sticks, and pistols.

Some of the lawyers were dressed in uniform.

Upon arrival, they started abusing and snatched the security pistol from his brother Owais. The assailants then assaulted them, hitting Sohail Anjum on the face with a pistol butt, leaving him bleeding.

As the attack continued, local residents gathered and pleaded for their release. Eventually, the assailants fled the scene after issuing death threats. Sohail Anjum further stated that the accused Muhammad Ahmed had been found engaging in indecent acts.

When members of the society intervened and asked him to stop, he refused.

The incident was reported at the gate, after which Sohail Anjum and his colleagues confronted the accused.
