A Nigerian national arriving from Bahrain at Lahore airport had 35 capsules filled with cocaine seized from his stomach.

According to a spokesperson from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), drugs worth over Rs 381 million, totaling 406.98 kilograms, were seized in various operations.

Eight individuals, including foreign nationals and a woman, were arrested for their involvement in drug trafficking and smuggling.

In one operation near Islamabad on the M-1 motorway, a woman was arrested with 4.8 kilograms of opium and 7.2 kilograms of hashish.

In another operation on the same motorway, 8.4 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in a car, and two suspects were apprehended. Furthermore, in a third operation, a passenger bus was searched, and 2.4 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a passenger.

In a separate incident in Mansehra, 450 grams of hashish were seized from a suspect near a college.

In Balochistan, 360 kilograms of hashish were found in the deserted area of Pishin, and 21.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle’s hidden compartments near Peshawar.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been filed against the arrested individuals, and investigations are underway.

Last month, ANF foiled multiple drug smuggling attempts, seizing nearly 28kg of narcotics worth over Rs10 million in a series of operations across the country.

Two suspects have been arrested, with investigations underway.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the crackdown on drug trafficking continues, particularly around educational institutions and key transport hubs.

Authorities are targeting both domestic and international smuggling networks.

In Peshawar, a suspect was arrested near a university with 2kg of cannabis, which he admitted was intended for sale to students.
