Private US spaceship Athena lands near Moon’s south pole in uncertain condition


This March 3, 2025, image courtesy of Intuitive Machines, LLC shows the company’s IM-2 mission Nova-C class lunar lander, Athena, in circular orbit around the Moon. Athena has touched down on the Moon, but ground control teams are still working to assess its status, including whether it is upright, a company spokesman said on March 6, 2025.
