DEPALPUR:

In a shocking incident in Bonga Awan, a village near Hujra Shah Muqeem, a woman, along with her lover, allegedly poisoned her husband to death.

The District Police Officer (DPO) Rashid Hidayat took notice of the incident, leading to the arrest of both suspects and the registration of a murder case.

According to details, Yasmeen Bibi conspired with her lover, Muhammad Ahmed, to get rid of her husband, Muhammad Aslam.

The duo allegedly mixed a toxic tablet – typically used for storing wheat – into a drink and gave it to Aslam. As his condition deteriorated, the accused fled the scene.

Upon hearing Aslam’s cries, his nephew rushed him to Hujra Shah Muqeem Hospital. However, as his condition worsened, Rescue 1122 attempted to transfer him to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Depalpur.

Aslam succumbed to the poisoning on the way. His family later took his body back to the village.

After receiving a call on Police Emergency Helpline 15, law enforcement officials from Hujra Shah Muqeem police station reached the scene.

Following Aslam’s death, Yasmeen returned to the village, where she was apprehended by family members and handed over to the police.

Aslam’s stepbrother told The Express Tribune that the victim was a labourer and father of three young children.

He revealed that Yasmeen had been involved in an illicit relationship with Muhammad Ahmed for two years, despite Aslam’s repeated warnings. Their ongoing disputes over the affair eventually led to the murder plot.

Hujra Shah Muqeem SHO Hafiz Athar Rasheed confirmed to The Express Tribune that DPO Okara Muhammad Rashid Hidayat took notice of the incident. Within hours, Yasmeen was arrested, and based on her confession, Muhammad Ahmed was also captured from Rizvi Chowk in Depalpur.
