Mother, uncle kidnap girl to frame relatives | The Express Tribune

KHANEWAL:

A mother and her brother kidnapped an 11-year-old girl in an attempt to implicate their relatives in a fabricated abduction case.

Police rescued the child within hours, exposing the plot. Amina Bibi, wife of Mehmood Sheikh, filed a complaint at the City Khanewal Police Station, alleging that her daughter, Zahra Batool, had been abducted on her way to school.

The breakthrough came when SHO City, Malik Saeed, spotted the girl in surveillance footage entering a street—followed by her mother, Amina Bibi, half an hour later. This discrepancy raised suspicions, leading to an intensive two-hour interrogation, during which Amina Bibi eventually confessed to staging the kidnapping.

Following her admission, police took Amina Bibi and her brother, Akmal, to Multan, where they recovered the girl from a relative’s house.

Further investigations revealed that Amina Bibi or-chestrated the abduction due to a property dispute with her husband’s elder brother and his wife, intending to falsely implicate them.
