The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast indicating rainfall across several cities starting from February 18.

The weather system is expected to bring much-needed rain after a prolonged dry spell, Express News reported.

According to the department, Monday, February 17, will remain largely dry with a humidity level between 31 and 35 percent.

In Islamabad, the air pollution index has been recorded at 152, indicating a level of air quality that is moderate.

The forecast predicts that a weather system will enter Pakistan on February 18, bringing rain to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and several cities in interior Punjab.

These areas are expected to receive rainfall between February 18 and 20.

Furthermore, the pollen count in Islamabad and Rawalpindi is anticipated to remain high, with an increase in pollen levels expected during this period. The meteorological department has advised residents to be prepared for potential weather changes and take necessary precautions.

This rain system comes as a relief after weeks of dry conditions, helping to improve air quality and ease the impact of the dry spell.

Yesterday, PMD stated weather will remain mostly cloudy in Lahore and surrounding areas, with periods of sun and cloud cover. It said that there is a 10% chance of rain in the city.

However, the PMD has stated that there are no significant chances of rainfall in most parts of the province, and dry weather is expected to prevail.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 10°C, with a maximum expected temperature of 25°C.

However, in the hill stations of Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas, cloudy skies will bring light rain and light snowfall.
