A man allegedly shot and killed his 15-year-old daughter and injured his niece in in village 37 EB, Burewala.

The police arrived at the scene, shifting the deceased and the injured girl to a hospital while launching an investigation into the case.

Police said the suspect, Muhammad Tahir, shot his daughter, Samia Tahir, on suspicion, also wounding her cousin, Amna Aslam.

In a video statement, the victim’s uncle, who resides in Greece, revealed that Muhammad Tahir had divorced his first wife before marrying twice more.

From his first marriage, he had two daughters whom he had reportedly abandoned.

Both girls were living at the home of their grandfather, Liaquat Ali, along with their uncle, who provided for them from abroad.

According to the uncle’s account, Samia Tahir had gone to buy pizza at Chowk Shah Junaid with her cousin Amna Aslam the previous evening. However, rumors quickly spread that the girls had run away from home, enraging Muhammad Tahir. Acting in a fit of anger, Tahir, along with his relative Liaqat Ali, allegedly opened fire on the girls, killing Samia on the spot and leaving Amna critically injured.

Authorities are conducting further inquiries to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crime. The police have launched a search for the accused, vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
