Dry weather conditions across Punjab have led to a rise in temperatures, with the heat expected to intensify over the coming days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The department stated that the weather system causing the dryness has passed through Pakistan and Punjab without bringing any rainfall, further contributing to the rising temperatures, Express News reported.
The Met Department predicts that Lahore will experience a minimum temperature of 19°C and a maximum of 32°C. The dry conditions have already led to increased daytime heat, and nights are expected to be warmer as well.
Other areas in Punjab are also seeing a similar increase in heat, and the dry spell is forecast to continue for the foreseeable future.
The department warned that due to the persistent dry weather, temperatures in the region are expected to keep rising gradually, making the heat more intense.
Few days ago, rainfall in various cities of Punjab brought a relief from the heat, with the weather turning pleasant across the region.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a weather system bringing rain is currently affecting most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Express News reported.
The rainfall caused temperatures to drop, improving the overall weather conditions for residents.
The rain was expected to continue until March 16, with Lahore experiencing a minimum temperature of 16°C and a maximum of 27°C.
Other parts of central and upper Punjab are also likely to receive rainfall. The cooling effect from the rain has provided some comfort to fasting residents during Ramadan.
