Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, has reaffirmed the country’s commitment to enhancing global cooperation on effective border management.

“Pakistan is committed to strengthening global cooperation on effective border management and addressing the challenges of illegal immigration,” Chaudhry said at a dinner hosted by UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.

Chaudhry is in England to attend a meeting of more than 40 countries and organisations, including the United States, France and Vietnam, aimed at coordinating global efforts to counter illegal migration and the people-smuggling gangs who profit from it.

Addressing the event, hosted in honour of visiting ministers, he stressed the importance of dealing with the challenges posed by illegal immigration as part of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen international collaboration on these critical issues.

Chaudhry held discussions with Yvette Cooper on various bilateral matters, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The minister is set to hold more key meetings with the UK Home Secretary and interior ministers from other countries.

The event focuses on topics such as effective border management, prevention of illegal immigration, and enhancing bilateral relations.

Expressing his views, Chaudhry reiterated that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have emphasized strict measures for border security and immigration control to ensure national stability and security.
