TEXAS: Pakistani communities in Houston and Dallas held thanksgiving events to celebrate the country’s recent victory over India.

In Houston, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General Ashfaq Chaudhry, and community leaders addressed the event via video link.

Meanwhile, in Dallas, a prestigious event was organised under the banner of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee.

The central theme of the gathering was “The role of the Pakistani-American community in light of the recent India-Pakistan tensions and the Kashmir issue.”

The aim of the dialogue was not only to support peace in South Asia but also to unite the Pakistani-American community to become a strong diplomatic voice that can advocate for justice and human rights on the global stage.

The event was attended by prominent community members, political leaders, doctors, lawyers, youth, and individuals from various walks of life.

Pakistan’s Consul General Chaudhry participated as the chief guest.

In his address, he praised the services of overseas Pakistanis and said: “The community presents a positive image of Pakistan in the United States. He affirmed that the embassy and consulate always stand with the community and are committed to their well-being.”

“Today, we are celebrating a joyful day for our nation, but we must not forget our fellow Pakistanis and Kashmiri brothers who still face oppression.

“Human rights violations in occupied Kashmir are an international reality, and Pakistan will continue to support its Kashmiri brethren morally, politically, and diplomatically.”

“We do not desire war, but if aggression is imposed on us, we reserve the right to defend ourselves, and Pakistan has always promoted peace, but our armed forces and nation are ready to face every challenge.”

Chaudhry also urged overseas Pakistanis to engage with the American political system and raise their voice so that the world understands that Kashmir is not merely a territorial dispute, but a humanitarian issue.

On the occasion, prominent attorney Naim Sakhiya remarked that overseas Pakistanis are not only the backbone of remittances but also ambassadors of Pakistan’s global image.
