Students suffer as exams displace classes | The Express Tribune

HAFIZABAD:

Thousands of students in Hafizabad are bearing the brunt of severe heat and administrative mismanagement as intermediate examinations continue across the district.

Regular academic activities have been severely disrupted, with many schoolchildren forced to attend classes outdoors due to the reservation of classrooms for examination centres.

Simultaneously, examinees themselves are grappling with delayed paper distribution and no compensation for lost time, compounding stress and distress during this crucial academic phase.

In several government high and higher secondary schools, classrooms have been entirely handed over to the examination boards, leaving no space for regular students.

As a result, young pupils—many in their early teens—are studying under the open sky in scorching temperatures, without access to fans, tents, or even shaded areas.

Reports have emerged of several students fainting due to heat exhaustion, prompting widespread criticism from parents, civil society members, and education advocates.
