Security agencies conducted full-scale counter-terror drills at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 maches, set to begin in two days.

The exercises, titled “Operation Safe Evacuation”, simulated emergency scenarios and involved police, military, Rangers, and the Elite Force, alongside rescue services and the Bomb Disposal Squad. The drills were led by SP Security Abdul Wahab and overseen by SP Model Town Ikhlaq Tarar.

Security officials tested rapid response tactics for potential threats, ensuring coordination among forces. The plan includes a four-layer security perimeter, with over 10,000 officers deployed during the tournament.

Meanwhile, ICC security officials expressed full confidence in Pakistan’s safety preparations, affirming that the measures meet international standards.
