An earthquake measuring 5.2 struck parts of Karachi and Balochistan late on Monday night, with its epicentre near the Sonmiani area, the seismic centre said.
Sonmiani is a coastal village in southeastern Balochistan.
The quake had a depth of 12 kilometres and was centred about 87 kilometres from Karachi.
Tremors were also felt in several areas of Karachi as well as parts of Balochistan.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were received.
Earlier today, a 3.2 earthquake shook Balochistan’s Sibi city and its adjoining areas.
