Pakistan have elected to bat first after winning the toss at the Dubai Cricket Stadium in Champions Trophy match against arch-rivals India.

India and Pakistan have met 135 times in ODIs, with India trailing 57-73 in the head-to-head record. There have been five matches with no result. India has won the last six ODIs between the two teams since 2018.

In the Champions Trophy, India and Pakistan have faced each other five times, with their first meeting in 2004. Their most recent encounter was in the 2017 final, where Pakistan triumphed by 180 runs. India trails Pakistan 2-3 in the Champions Trophy head-to-head.

India started their campaign with a strong win against Bangladesh, thanks to Shubman Gill’s brilliant unbeaten knock of 101* runs and a brilliant five-wicket haul from Mohammed Shami. India chased down a target of 229 runs with ease, reaching 231/4 in 46.3 overs.

Pakistan, however, struggled in their opener against New Zealand, falling short by 60 runs in their chase of 321 runs.

Pakistan was bowled out for 260 in 47.2 overs. New Zealand’s Tom Latham and Will Young both scored centuries, guiding their team to 320/5 in 50 overs.
