Punjab and Karachi Weather Update: Rain, Cool Winds, and Snow | The Express Tribune

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the persistent weather system will continue to bring rain across Punjab, with showers expected in Lahore and other districts of the province on Thursday and Friday.

Cool winds, accompanied by rain, will also bring snowfall in the mountainous areas. Lahore is expected to experience a minimum temperature of 12°C and a maximum of 23°C.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has advised residents and tourists to stay informed, avoid unnecessary travel, and contact the PDMA helpline at 1129 in case of emergencies.

Meanwhile, Karachi’s weather remains cool, with a minimum temperature of 22°C recorded for the second consecutive day.

The city is expected to remain mostly cloudy today, with partial cloud cover possible on Friday. Karachi’s temperature is forecast to drop by 2°C, reaching a minimum of 19°C, with a maximum of 28°C.

A strong western weather system continues to affect the western and upper regions of Pakistan, bringing rain with thunder and lightning to cities such as Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, and Sukkur.

Light drizzle or showers may occur in Karachi’s suburbs, although significant rainfall is not expected.

Intermittent widespread rain, wind, thunderstorm, and snowfall over the hills are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper and central Punjab, and the Pothohar region over the next twelve hours. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely in some areas during this period.

Rain, wind, and thunderstorm are also expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North East Balochistan, and upper and central Punjab, while partly cloudy weather is expected in other parts of the country.

Islamabad 14°C , Lahore 17°C , Karachi 22°C , Peshawar 14°C , Quetta 9°C , Gilgit 6°C , Murree 3°C and Muzaffarabad 9°C .

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain and wind and thunderstorm and snow is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramula while, Cloudy weather with chances of rain and wind with thunderstorm in Jammu.

Temperature recorded this morning:

Pulwama and Shopian 3°C , Sri Nagar 3°C , Jammu 15°C , Leh -8°C , Anantnag 4°C and Baramula 7°C
