A 76-year-old man was brutally murdered inside his home in the Kahna area on Friday after the unidentified assailants stormed the residence and slit his throat with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

According to Edhi sources, the incident took place in Kankar Village, where the victim, identified as Mukhtiar, was attacked and killed in cold blood.

Rescue officials transported the body to the morgue for post-mortem examination, while police launched an investigation into the murder.

Forensic experts were called to the scene to collect evidence, and a search operation has been initiated to trace the culprits.

Police said the motive behind the killing and the identity of the attackers remain unknown at this stage. “We are examining all possible angles and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas. The investigation is ongoing,” a police spokesperson said.
