Inheritance uncovered in Chakwal captivity case | The Express Tribune

CHAKWAL:

A key development has emerged in the disturbing Chakwal captivity case, in which, a brother and sister had been held captive in a haveli for two years in Gagh village, Chakwal.

Inquiry into the case has led to the discovery of an inheritance record of over 950 kanals of land belonging to the survivor, Hassan Raza. While Hassan’s sister died in captivity, he was rescued in a police operation earlier as the sole survivor and heir.

This ownership record, comprising 24 pages, was issued in 2016 by Hassan Raza’s late father, Muhammad Taj, and bears the number 381, dated March 1, 2016. As per the record, Muhammad Taj owned 955 kanals and 10 marlas of land. Interestingly, some sections of the ownership record list Muhammad Taj and his brother, Zulfiqar Ali, as joint landowners.

According to the valuation by the Chakwal Revenue Department, the total value of the land, which Hassan Raza is set to inherit, stands at Rs 60.17 million.
