RAWALPINDI:

The issue of assigning examination staff and centre in-charges for the annual matriculation exams, set to begin on March 4 in the Rawalpindi Division, has aggravated due to a lack of cooperation from teachers and school heads and a shortage of teachers.

As a result, there are growing concerns over the matriculation and intermediate exams throughout Punjab, including the Rawalpindi division.

The persistent lack of cooperation from teachers and their reluctance to fulfil examination duties has led all nine education boards in the province to urgently seek intervention from the Punjab Ministry of Education for the allocation of examination staff.

In response, the Ministry has issued an urgent directive to all 43 district education authorities, district education officers, and school heads across the province. This directive, issued by Section Officer Ahmed Bilal Khan, mandates the immediate assignment of teachers for examination duties, with a requirement for implementation within 24 hours.

The directive also orders the suspension of any ongoing government duties for those assigned to exam duties during the examination period. Furthermore, it calls for the immediate appointment of marking teachers for the matriculation and intermediate exams.
