A private airline’s Karachi-bound flight faced turbulence before takeoff as a former Quetta commissioner’s daughter allegedly assaulted a female flight attendant over a routine request.

According to airline sources, trouble began when the attendant politely asked the passenger to fasten her seatbelt and close her tray table.

Instead of following the instructions for her safety, the daughter of the powerful ex-bureaucrat reportedly threw a tantrum and hurled swear words and threats at the flight attendant, creating a huge scene inside the plane.

As tensions escalated between the crew and the passenger, the captain contacted air traffic control and requested to taxi the aircraft back from the runway as things could have gone out of control midair.

Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel were immediately called on board.

When informed that she and her father would be offloaded, the passenger allegedly punched the flight attendant in the face in a fit of rage.

The impact was so severe that the attendant’s nose started bleeding, and one of her teeth was broken.

ASF officers intervened without delay, detaining both the VIP father and daughter on charges of assault, disrupting the flight, and endangering the lives of other passengers and the crew.

However, rather than pressing charges, civil aviation authorities required them to submit a written apology, or Sulahnama, as it is known in legal terms to avoid any ramifications of the incident.

After signing the document, the two were allowed to leave. Meanwhile, the flight, now delayed, eventually took off—without them.
